I trust everyone. It’s the devil inside them I don’t trust.
My thoughts:
Everyone has two sides to them, the light and dark, good and bad, wise and foolish, selfless and selfish. Our task in life is to navigate between the two. The better we get at identifying the angel and devil inside us, the better we get at creating peace and happiness in life.
My take is that I trust the devil inside people, too. I trust people’s inner devil to be selfish, fearful, frustrated, angry, deceitful, and maybe even dangerous. When we remember that people will sometimes follow their inner devil, we’re a little less surprised when people show their horns.
The answer to evoking our inner angel is simple: honesty, kindness, compassion, patience, forgiveness, and gratitude. When we express these attitudes and behaviors, we make it easier for others to do the same. Everyone wants to feel safe and loved. So, we must BE the love and light we want to see in the world.
Always remember that people have both sides of the light and dark. Don’t be surprised when people show the darkness. But also don’t be dragged into the darkness with them. Stand in the light. Live with love, and you will have peace and joy.
